Cardano Trails Its 200-Day EMA by 21%, POL Just 8% From Its Own

Quick Take
- Cardano's governance body warned node operators about a critical Linux kernel flaw that could crash or corrupt nodes.
- POL's momentum has started to turn, while ADA's still points lower.
- Whale buyers are defending Cardano's floor near $0.19, and Bitcoin may decide whether it holds.
Cardano operators are racing to fix a severe Linux bug, and ADA sits in a deep slump.
The warning lands while fear grips ADA traders and whales quietly add to positions. POL, Polygon's token, shows a milder trend and early signs of recovery. Traders want to know which coin repairs its chart first, and whether whale buyers can hold Cardano's line.
Intersect Urges Cardano Pool Operators to Patch a Critical Linux Flaw
Intersect, the governance body behind Cardano, has urged stake pool operators to fix a critical Linux flaw tracked as CVE-2026-98432. The bug sits in the Linux kernel's IPv4 TCP handling and allows remote code execution. Ubuntu is among the affected systems, and most Cardano nodes run on it.
Red Hat rated the flaw 9.8 on the CVSS scale, near the top of its severity range. An attacker could crash block producers or relays, or corrupt their data. Anthropic first flagged the bug, which hit systems worldwide.
Some Linux distributions already carry the fix. Ubuntu patches are being expedited, and Intersect told operators to install the fixed kernel and reboot.
Traders face a familiar mood. Sentiment toward ADA has dropped back to its August fear lows. That earlier bout of fear came before a 62% rally from $0.17 to $0.28.
CryptoQuant data shows whale activity rising near the $0.19 zone. A similar spike in mid-September stopped a pullback in its tracks.
POL Sits Within Reach of Its Long-Term Average

POL, the token that replaced MATIC on Polygon, traded near $0.090 on Friday, down about 1% on the day. It sits below its 50-day average near $0.096. The 200-day average sits just above, near $0.098. Both lines act as ceilings for now. Their closeness matters, though. POL trades only about 8% under its long-term average, so its trend damage is far shallower than Cardano's.
RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, reads 43 on the daily chart. That reading sits just below neutral, which means sellers still hold a slight edge. Another signal is turning. The MACD, a trend-following momentum tool, has crossed above its signal line. That shift suggests selling pressure is starting to fade.
The nearest test is overhead. A daily close above $0.097 would put POL back above the 50-day zone. It would also open a path toward $0.10, a round number that often draws sellers. Clearing it would leave the 200-day average as the last major hurdle.
Support comes first at $0.087, only a few cents below the current price. A break there would expose $0.079, the next floor on the chart. Losing that level would undo the recent stabilization.
The longer view is mixed. POL edged up over seven days but remains down roughly 16% over 30 days. The flat week shows sellers have eased off. Buyers still need a close above resistance to confirm a real turn.
ADA Leans on $0.19 With Momentum Still Against It

ADA held flat on the day, still pressing on the zone the whales have been defending. The token has slipped about 5% over the past week. It sits well below its 50-day average. The token also trades roughly 21% under its 200-day average near $0.24. That gap is far wider than POL's, so Cardano needs a much bigger recovery before its trend looks repaired.
RSI reads 32 on the daily chart, just above the oversold line. Sellers have pushed hard, but they have not run out of steam yet. The MACD also remains below its signal line, so momentum still points down.
The first floor under the current zone sits at $0.18. A break there would expose the August low, where the last fear-driven rally began. Losing that level would erase the whole late-summer base.
Overhead, $0.21 is the first hurdle. The next rebound target for ADA sits near $0.22, about 15% above current levels. It falls just under the next resistance at $0.23, near the 50-day line. Buyers would need to clear both to show the whale bids are more than a pause.
What Flips the Next Three Days
Two levels per coin decide the next few sessions, and Bitcoin sets the tone for both.
- Bullish: POL closes above its first resistance while ADA reclaims its first hurdle overhead, with whale bids still holding Cardano's floor. That would point both coins toward their 50-day lines. The setup fails if ADA loses its first support.
- Bearish: Further Bitcoin losses crack ADA's floor and send it toward the August low, while POL slips under its nearest support. A POL close back above its first resistance would cancel this path.
POL Holds the Cleaner Setup for Now
POL looks closer to repair. Its momentum has already turned, and its long-term average sits within a short climb. ADA still has to show that the whale buying near its floor can hold once sellers test it again.
Bitcoin remains the wild card for both coins. Any disruption from Cardano nodes that skip the kernel patch could also hit ADA first.
