Here's What Needs to Happen for Litecoin Price to Hit $60 as Bitcoin Wobbles

Three Things to Know
- Bitcoin is drifting toward a level that could decide how hard major altcoins fall next.
- Litecoin now trades under both of its key moving averages, and sellers still lead the trend.
- Support just above $51 has become the line that separates a steady Litecoin from a sharper slide.
Bitcoin's monthlong slide has pushed traders to rank which large altcoins would suffer most if the selling deepens. Litecoin has long tracked Bitcoin almost one for one, which once made it look like the calmer choice.
That reputation now faces a real test. LTC has slipped under the trend lines that set it apart from Cardano and Dogecoin. Can it climb back toward $60? Only if Bitcoin steadies first and buyers retake lost ground.
Bitcoin's Slide Puts Litecoin's Low Beta to the Test
Bitcoin traded near $77,609 on Nov. 3. That put it about 3.5% above $75,000, a level traders now watch closely. The largest cryptocurrency has lost 10.4% over 30 days and 3.7% in the past week. That leaves it roughly 38% below its record of $126,080, set in early October 2025.
The slide has traders asking which large altcoins would suffer most if that line gives way. Litecoin stands out for moving almost in step with Bitcoin. Its 90-day beta, a measure of how strongly a coin echoes BTC's moves, sits at 0.99. Cardano and Dogecoin run hotter, at 1.55 and 1.45. Over the past month, Cardano fell 26.9% and Dogecoin lost 21.6%.
A low beta has not always protected Litecoin. In the sell-off from late May to early June, LTC dropped 21.1%. Bitcoin fell 17.6% over the same stretch.
The comparison rests on past behavior, and Bitcoin has not yet closed below that line.
Litecoin Trades Under Both Averages Near the Bottom of Its Range

Litecoin changed hands near $54.15 on Tuesday, flat over 24 hours. The coin is down about 5% for the week and roughly 23% over the past month. That puts it close to the bottom of the range it has held since early October.
The bigger problem is where price sits against its moving averages. A moving average smooths out daily swings to show the underlying trend. LTC now trades below its 50-day average near $58.42. It also sits under its 200-day average near $56.51. When price sits under both lines, they tend to act as ceilings, and the trend favors sellers.
That marks a shift from a few weeks ago. Litecoin had been the one coin in its peer group holding above its long-term average. Losing the 200-day line removes the edge that set it apart from Cardano and Dogecoin.
Price is also pressing against its 30-day low near $53.65. Only a thin margin separates the current quote from that floor. If Bitcoin dips again, Litecoin has little room before it sets a fresh monthly low.
The 90-day low stands much lower, near $44, reached in mid-August. A break of the recent range could put that level back in focus for traders.
The route to $60 runs through both averages, in order. Buyers first need to reclaim the 200-day line and hold it on a daily close. They would then face the 50-day average, which sits just under the target. Clearing both would turn those ceilings back into floors.
Sellers Keep Control Without Reaching Exhaustion
Momentum readings back up the bearish picture. The daily RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, sits near 36. That reading shows weak demand, but it has not reached the oversold zone below 30. In plain terms, sellers still have room to push before the market looks stretched enough for a reliable bounce.
The MACD tells a similar story. It remains below its signal line, which means momentum is still pointing down. Buyers have not yet produced the crossover that often marks an early turn.
Trend strength adds weight to that view. The data show a real trend in place, and sellers are the ones leading it. A strong downtrend can run longer than traders expect.
Any recovery would first need momentum to flatten out.
Why $51.62 Matters More Than the Road to $60
Support near $51.62 is the level that decides Litecoin's next move. It sits just below the coin's former 200-day reference, the line that once set LTC apart from its peers. A daily close under it would erase the last sign of that relative strength.
On the upside, the first hurdle is resistance near $56.71. That level lines up closely with the 200-day average, so sellers have two reasons to defend it. A clean break above would be the first real win for buyers in weeks.
The next ceiling sits near $59.66. Clearing it would leave the 50-day line as the last obstacle.
Risks look larger below. If support gives way, Litecoin could lose its steady, one-for-one link with Bitcoin and fall as hard as Cardano and Dogecoin. The next floor near $46.95 sits well below current prices.
Two Paths Hinge on Bitcoin Holding Its Line
Both outcomes depend on whether Bitcoin keeps its footing above that closely watched mark.
- Bullish: Bitcoin holds its line, and Litecoin closes above first resistance near the 200-day average. That would open a path to the next ceiling and then the round-number target. A daily close below key support would cancel this view.
- Bearish: Litecoin loses key support on a daily close, likely as Bitcoin slips. Sellers could then press toward the lower floor. A close back above first resistance would invalidate this setup.
Litecoin Needs Bitcoin's Help Before $60
For now, the chart does not support a run to the round-number target. Litecoin first needs a daily close back above first resistance, and sellers still hold the trend. Bitcoin carries the bigger risk. A close below its watched mark would likely drag LTC through support, given how closely the two coins move. Traders should watch Bitcoin's daily close first.
