NEAR Slips 9% in a Month Even After Rejoining the Largest Crypto Index ETF

Three Things to Know
- NEAR has rejoined the Bitwise 10 Crypto Index ETF.
- The index news has not stopped the slide, and sellers still control the daily chart.
- Bulls need a daily close above the 50-day average to signal a turn.
NEAR has rejoined the Bitwise 10, a common benchmark for institutional investors. The project shared the news on X as the token kept sliding.
The listing could widen NEAR's investor base and deepen liquidity over time. Right now, though, traders face a cooling market after a sharp October run. They want to know whether index demand can arrive before the correction runs deeper.
NEAR Returns to the Bitwise 10 as the October Rally Unwinds
NEAR Protocol amplified a widely shared post on X confirming the token's return to the Bitwise 10 Crypto Index ETF. The fund is billed as the largest of its kind.
A spot in the index puts NEAR in front of a wider pool of professional money. That exposure could bring new investors, deeper liquidity and more trading interest in the token.
The timing is awkward. NEAR nearly doubled in October, then the rally cracked. On Oct 29 the token fell more than 14% in a single session. It slid from about $4.73 to near $4.06.
Selling continued. NEAR dropped another 4% or so on Nov 1, just as the listing began to circulate.
That leaves the listing competing with a cooling market. If broader crypto prices keep falling, the boost from the Bitwise 10 may get lost in the noise.
Index Return Fails to Lift NEAR Back Above Its 50-Day Line

NEAR traded near $4.24 at last check, down about 1% over the past day. The listing has done little to change the direction of the tape.
The token now sits just below its 50-day moving average, which stands near $4.31. A moving average smooths out daily swings to show the underlying trend. When price falls under the 50-day line, that average often turns from a floor into a ceiling. Buyers have lost control of the short-term trend, and each bounce toward that level may meet sellers.
Only a few cents separate price from that line. That makes the 50-day line the first test for any recovery attempt. A close above it would show buyers stepping in again.
Over a longer span, the picture looks healthier. NEAR trades well above its 200-day average near $2.94. That cushion reflects how far the token ran in October. The broader uptrend from that rally remains intact, even as the short-term picture weakens.
Recent losses show the correction clearly. NEAR lost about 8% over seven days and roughly 9% over 30 days. Those losses wiped out a chunk of October's gains and show the pullback is still running.
Sellers Still Set the Pace After the Spike
RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, sits near 44 on the daily timeframe. That reading leans weak. Demand has faded since the October spike, but the token is far from oversold territory below 30. In plain terms, NEAR still has room to fall before sellers run out of steam.
The MACD indicator adds to that picture. It remains below its signal line, which means momentum is still pointing down. Bounces have not yet turned that signal around.
Trend strength readings show a new trend taking shape, and sellers are the ones driving it. That matters for timing. A directional move led by sellers tends to persist until buyers absorb the supply.
$4.81 Is the Ceiling Bulls Need to Reclaim
Overhead, the nearest resistance sits near $4.81. That level lines up roughly with where NEAR traded before the Oct 29 crash. A daily close above it would erase that drop entirely and show buyers had regained the upper hand.
Clearing that ceiling would open the way toward the next resistance, near $5.52. That zone marks the upper end of the October run. Bulls would need several strong sessions to get there.
Support looks thin. The nearest floor rests near $2.73, even under the 200-day line. Between the current price and that floor, the chart offers little structure to catch a fall.
That gap is the main risk for holders. If selling picks up, NEAR could drift a long way before buyers find a clear level to defend.
Losing that floor would expose the next support, near $2.21. A drop that deep would undo most of October's gains.
Two Paths for NEAR Over the Next Three Days
Over the next three days, NEAR's direction likely hinges on the 50-day line and the late-October crash low.
- Bullish: A daily close above the 50-day average would signal buyers are returning. That could carry NEAR toward the first resistance, with the upper ceiling as a stretch target. A drop back under the Oct 29 crash low would cancel this setup.
- Bearish: Losing the crash low would hand sellers the next leg. With little structure below, NEAR could drift toward the 200-day average. A close above the 50-day line would void this view.
Good News, Unconvinced Chart
The Bitwise 10 spot gives NEAR something that lasts beyond one trading week. Index money tends to stay once it arrives, and that supports the token's long-term case.
Price action has not caught up. Sellers keep the edge until NEAR closes above its 50-day average. A wider crypto selloff could also bury the index story before buyers act on it.
