Rich Dad Poor Dad Author Puts a $65K Downside Target on Bitcoin, but There Is a Catch

Quick Take
- Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, says he expects Bitcoin to crash and plans to buy the drop.
- Bitcoin is sitting right on its 200-day average while momentum still points down.
- His downside target lines up with the first major support on the chart.
Robert Kiyosaki has warned that Bitcoin is heading for a crash. He also says he would welcome the fall and use it to add to his holdings.
His warning lands as Bitcoin tests a long-term trend line after a weak month. Sellers still lead, and buyers have yet to show strength.
Kiyosaki Warns of a Crash He Plans to Buy
Kiyosaki, author of the personal finance bestseller Rich Dad Poor Dad, has pointed to a downside target near $65K. He did not attach a firm time frame or specific conditions to the warning.
The catch is how he plans to react. Kiyosaki has said he would treat a crash as a chance to buy more, calling it "a sale" on an asset he likes. That stance fits his long-running distrust of the dollar and his push for hard assets such as gold, silver and Bitcoin.
Bitcoin trades near $76K, so his target sits about 14% lower. Sellers would first need to push the price decisively through the 200-day average, which sits right at current levels.

Bitcoin is resting on its 200-day moving average, the average closing price over roughly the past seven months. Traders treat that line as the divide between an uptrend and a downtrend, and the price leaves little cushion above it.
The shorter-term picture is weaker. The 50-day average, a gauge of the past two months, sits near $80K, well above the current price. That line has turned into a ceiling, and buyers would need to clear it before talk of a recovery holds up.
Bitcoin has lost about 12% over 30 days, wiping out the gains that had lifted it toward that 50-day level. It shed roughly another 3% over the past week.
Trading calmed over the last day, and the price finished flat. Quiet sessions like this often mean the market is waiting for a push, and the selling may resume.
If Bitcoin holds the 200-day average, dip buyers keep a clear floor to defend. A close below it would give Kiyosaki's crash scenario room to play out.
Sellers Still Hold the Momentum
RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, reads 38. That reading is weak, but it sits well above the oversold zone below 30. In plain terms, sellers still have room to press before the market looks stretched enough to force a bounce.
Other momentum signals lean the same way. The MACD, a tool that compares short and longer-term price trends, remains below its signal line. That means momentum is still pointing down, with no sign yet of a turn.
Trend-strength readings show a downtrend starting to form, led by sellers.
Why $65K Is Where the Debate Gets Settled
The first major support lines up exactly with Kiyosaki's target. That overlap gives his call a clear test. If buyers defend that floor, a crash may stall right where he plans to buy.
A break would not end the slide at once. The next support sits near $63K, only a short step lower. Losing both levels would show sellers in firm control.
The upside map is just as specific. Bulls first need to reclaim the zone around the 50-day average, which has capped the price after last month's drop. A further ceiling waits near $82K.
A close above that higher resistance would hand the structure back to buyers and leave Kiyosaki's warning without a clear path.
Two Roads for the Next Three Days
Over the next three days, the 200-day line decides which path opens up.
- Bullish: A close above the 50-day average would put the higher ceiling in play. A drop back under the 200-day average would cancel this setup and return the edge to sellers.
- Bearish: A close below the 200-day line would open a slide toward Kiyosaki's target. A recovery above the 50-day average would invalidate this path and leave his crash call stalled.
The Call Hinges on One Support
For now, the chart leans toward sellers. Kiyosaki's target still needs a clean break of the 200-day line.
Conviction looks thin on both sides, so a sharp move could erase these levels quickly.
