Sui Price Rejection at 200-Day Average Likely to Trigger Bearish Breakdown Below $0.83

Sui Price Rejection at 200-Day Average Likely to Trigger Bearish Breakdown Below $0.83

Three Things to Know

  • A selloff in Nasdaq chip stocks dragged Sui lower alongside Bitcoin, with no Sui-specific trigger behind the drop.
  • SUI remains pinned beneath both of its key moving averages, and momentum indicators still favor sellers.
  • The recent 30-day low near $0.83 is the line that could decide whether the slide deepens.

Sui slumped this week as a rout in chip stocks spread across crypto markets. Leveraged traders were forced out, and the token gave back gains it had struggled to build.

The damage leaves SUI tied tightly to Bitcoin and sitting under its long-term trend line. A modest bounce has followed, but sellers still control the chart.

A Nasdaq Chip Rout Drags Sui Down With Bitcoin

SUI traded near $0.847 on Nov 5, down about 9.5% in a single day. The drop came as a selloff in Nasdaq chip stocks spilled into crypto and hit every large coin. Bitcoin fell about 5.6% over the same 24 hours.

Forced selling made the slide worse. Leveraged long positions were liquidated across the crypto market, and those exits pushed prices lower in a short window.

Nothing specific to Sui explained the fall. The network had an early November token unlock, but trackers put it between 2.07 million and 22.6 million SUI. That amounts to about 0.5% of circulating supply at most, too small to drive a move this size.

The bigger factor is how closely SUI now tracks Bitcoin. Daily returns of the two coins showed a 30-day correlation of 0.84 on Binance data, which means they move almost together. That makes the $75,000 area on Bitcoin the key outside level for SUI traders to watch.

Sellers Still Own the Trend Beneath Both Averages

SUI has clawed back some ground since that chip-driven drop. The token now trades near $0.86, up about 3% over the past day. The token is flat for the week, so the bounce has repaired only part of the damage.

The rebound leaves price stuck beneath both of its key moving averages. A moving average smooths out daily swings to show the underlying trend. The 50-day average sits near $0.95. The 200-day average is slightly higher, around $0.97.

When price trades below these lines, they tend to act as ceilings. The 200-day average marks the long-term trend, which makes it the line bulls must reclaim. Until SUI closes above it, any rally into that zone looks like a chance for sellers to step back in.

The past month explains why the mood is so heavy. SUI has lost about 27% over 30 days in a steady slide. Price now sits close to the bottom of that range, with the 30-day low near $0.828 only a few cents away.

Trend strength readings confirm a real downtrend driven by sellers. Rallies have struggled to gain traction.

The longer view is even bleaker. SUI peaked at an all-time high of $5.35 and now trades about 84% below that level.

Momentum Has Yet to Turn Despite the Bounce

Daily RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, reads about 40 for SUI. That puts it on the weak side of neutral. Buyers have lost control, but the token has not yet reached the oversold zone below 30.

Oversold readings often come before sellers run out of steam. SUI is not there yet, so the indicator leaves room for another leg lower before exhaustion sets in.

The MACD tells a similar story. This tool compares short and long-term price trends to show which way momentum is moving. It remains below its signal line, which means momentum is still pointing down.

So far the bounce looks like a pause inside the slide, with no sign of a turn.

$0.71 Is Where Buyers Need to Show Up

If the 30-day low gives way, the daily chart shows little in the way of a floor until about $0.71. A break of the recent low would likely draw sellers in fast.

If that level fails, the next support sits near $0.64. A drop that deep would extend the monthly slide and test the patience of remaining holders.

The upside map starts at the 50-day average, which doubles as the first resistance. Closing back above that line would end the immediate rejection and ease pressure on the trend.

Confirmation would come higher, near $1.06. Clearing that level would show buyers can hold gains instead of fading at each ceiling. Until then, every push higher faces sellers waiting overhead.

Two Paths Hinge on Bitcoin's Next Move

Bitcoin's direction will likely decide which way SUI breaks next.

  • Bullish: If Bitcoin steadies and SUI closes above the 50-day average, the path opens toward the next resistance overhead. That would turn the recent bounce into a real recovery attempt. A drop below the 30-day low would cancel this view.
  • Bearish: A daily close under the 30-day low would put the first support in play as the next target. A reclaim of the 50-day average would cancel this view and hand momentum back to buyers.

The Burden of Proof Stays With the Bulls

For now, the bias on SUI stays bearish. The token needs to win back its moving averages before buyers can claim any real control of the trend.

The setup still carries a wild card. SUI moves so closely with Bitcoin that a fresh macro shock could override the chart in either direction. Traders should keep one eye on Bitcoin and on tech stocks.
