XT Exchange: A Prediction Market Starts With a Question That Can Be Settled

XPredict brings event-based markets into XT Exchange, where a broad expectation becomes a position on a question with a defined outcome.

A view about the future can be broad. A market that settles on an outcome has to be precise. Expecting interest rates to fall leaves open which central bank, which decision, and which date. Those details become essential when a position depends on whether a defined event happens.

Take a hypothetical market asking whether a specified central bank will lower a particular policy rate at its next scheduled meeting. Someone expecting rates to fall later in the year could still be wrong about that meeting. The broad forecast and the market’s question concern different things.

XPredict brings this kind of event-based trading into XT Exchange. Its markets have Yes and No outcomes, whose prices change as participants trade. Eligible users can take positions using USDT in an XT Spot account. The question gives the position its subject; the settlement rules establish what will count as the answer.

In the hypothetical rate market, those rules would need to specify the rate, the meeting and the accepted source of confirmation. They would also need to account for a delay or another exceptional outcome. Participants can disagree about what the central bank will do while sharing a definition of the event they are trading.

XPredict’s market status and settlement results follow Polymarket. Once the result is confirmed, XT completes settlement through its internal account system. Each market has a designated resolution source, an end date, and rules for handling ambiguous cases. Those terms determine the evidence used to resolve a market, even when its headline admits a looser reading.

Before that point, the price supplies a changing assessment. It can be read as an implied probability, rather than confirmation that the event will occur. New evidence can alter the assessment while leaving the original question unchanged. On XPredict, event pages bring the question, outcome information, and resolution details together, so participants can see what a changing price refers to.

Settlement is where the distinction becomes financial. In an ordinary resolved binary market, each winning prediction share settles at 100 cents, while each losing share settles at zero. The amount spent on a losing position can therefore be lost. Trading closure and final settlement are separate stages, and canceled events follow predefined rules that can differ between markets.

For the participant in the hypothetical rate market, a later cut would not answer the question about the specified meeting. That narrower question is what the position represents. XPredict gives users a way to trade defined events; the definition determines whether a broad view of the future is also the view expressed by their position.
