CertiK Strengthens UAE Engagement in Digital Asset Security

Dubai, UAE, November 4th, 2026, Chainwire
As financial institutions and digital asset businesses expand in the UAE, demand for asset security, operational resilience, and ongoing compliance is growing alongside regulatory progress. CertiK supports these needs through its work with local institutions and businesses, including Abu Dhabi's Hub71 and Gate Dubai, while continuing to strengthen its engagement in the UAE.
With engineering and business development personnel based in Dubai, CertiK is building on its existing local partnerships to support the digital asset ecosystem in the UAE. In Abu Dhabi, startups in Hub71’s ecosystem, based in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), can access discounted security services and free access to CertiK Compliance through CertiK’s role as an official Hub71 vendor, helping them reduce the cost and complexity of licensing preparation and manage ongoing compliance requirements. In March 2026, CertiK also completed an independent Proof of Reserves (PoR) verification for Gate Dubai, a VARA-licensed exchange, confirming at least 100% reserve coverage across 10 digital assets as of December 31, 2025.
The urgency for these verification and compliance safeguards is highlighted by the region's evolving threat landscape. CertiK's research identified five digital asset security incidents in 2026 that originated in the UAE or involved UAE-registered entities. Four of these incidents resulted in approximately $8.02 million in documented losses, while the loss amount for the fifth has yet to be confirmed. Due to limitations in incident reporting and attribution, the actual number of incidents and total losses may be significantly higher. These findings highlight the importance of ongoing security and risk management as institutions expand their digital asset operations.
To address how institutions can bridge this gap, CertiK hosted a media briefing during Dubai FinTech Summit 2026, titled “The Trillion-Dollar Trust Gap: Why Institutional Finance Still Hesitates on Digital Assets.” During the discussion, CertiK Chief Business Officer Jason Jiang emphasized that navigating these regional vulnerabilities requires moving beyond checkbox compliance.
“Financial institutions are making real progress in bringing digital assets into financial services, but regulatory approval is only the starting point,” said Jason Jiang. “Protecting customer assets and managing risks as operations scale requires continuous security and compliance. This is why CertiK is expanding beyond Web3 security to become the Trust Layer for Digital Value, helping institutions build trust across an increasingly complex digital economy."
