Investor Kidnapped, Driven to Cabin and Robbed of $8,000,000 in Cryptocurrency by Texas Brothers

Federal prosecutors have secured lengthy prison sentences against two Texas brothers convicted in a violent cryptocurrency kidnapping case.
Raymond Christian Garcia and Isiah Angelo Garcia of Waller, Texas, were sentenced before U.S. District Judge Donovan W. Frank on October 29th, 2026, says the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota.
The brothers had traveled from Texas and held the family at gunpoint for more than nine hours inside their Grant home.
They restrained the family with zip ties while demanding access to the victim’s cryptocurrency accounts. When the victim failed to transfer the amount they expected, the brothers forced the victim to drive Isiah Garcia to the family’s cabin in upstate Minnesota.
At the cabin, Garcia compelled the victim to retrieve additional cryptocurrency storage devices and transfer the funds. The defendants ultimately forced the victim to send more than $8 million in cryptocurrency. They fled after the victim’s son called 911, but law enforcement later tracked them down and arrested them near Houston, Texas.
Says FBI Minneapolis Field Office Special Agent in Charge Christopher D. Dotson,
“Raymond and Isiah Garcia violated the sanctity of a home, abducted a victim, terrorized a family at gunpoint for hours, and disrupted an entire community in a brazen act of violence and greed.
The defendants’ acts were targeted, deliberate, and extremely violent. Crimes like this have real and lasting impacts on victims and entire communities. The FBI and our law enforcement partners will act immediately and unrelentingly to protect our community and bring violent offenders to justice. I hope that today’s sentence is an important step toward healing for the victims as they recover from these events.”
Raymond Christian Garcia and Isiah Angelo Garcia were sentenced to 180 months and 186 months in prison, respectively.
